This is the role - What you will do:
As a Medior/Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will independently design, implement, and test core software subsystems, ensuring high reliability and compliance with medical standards. You will become part of the multidisciplinary NL R&D product development team based in Zoetermeer.
This team continuously improves the physical Medido product, handling tens of thousands of medication dispenses per day. Within the team, there is plenty of room for your own input, creativity, and mentorship.
These are the responsibilities
· Develop & Architect: Architect and develop complex bare-metal C applications running on an STM microcontroller for the device.
· Testing Infrastructure: Maintain and expand our Python-based integration testing infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and internal tooling used during production.
· Data-Driven Optimization: Analyze field data and device telemetry to identify performance bottlenecks, implementing continuous software improvements based on real-world insights.
· Collaboration: Collaborate daily with the Product Owner to refine technical requirements, and engage periodically with Service Product Management (SPM) to evaluate feature feasibility.
· Mentorship & Quality: Perform code reviews and mentor junior team members, embodying our "Take good care" principle by maintaining high code quality.
This is you
3–5+ years of experience in embedded software development.
Strong proficiency in bare-metal C and Python.
Experience reading electrical schematics and working with Unit tests.
Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Familiarity with medical device software standards (e.g., IEC 62304) is a strong plus.
Proactive problem-solving approach ("Can-Do attitude") and a commitment to ensuring end-user safety ("Customer first").
A true team player who owns their work and helps others by example.
Working proficiency in the English language.
B1+ Proficiency in Dutch is a strong plus.
